Parent Cooperative Community was founded with a singular, heartfelt mission:
To provide Trauma-Informed, High Fidelity Wraparound Services to post-adoptive families throughout California.
Our goal is to stabilize and strengthen families, ensuring adoptive children and their parents can build lasting, loving bonds. We understand the unique challenges that come after adoption and are dedicated to supporting families through their journey, offering a path to healing & unity.
The Founding of Parent Cooperative Community
Parent Cooperative Community is led by Helene Timpone, an internationally recognized clinician who specializes in trauma and attachment therapy. With decades of experience in the field, Helene recognized a significant gap in post-adoption support for families. She witnessed first-hand the struggles and challenges these families faced—struggles that often went unaddressed by traditional support systems.
Motivated by a deep desire to make a tangible difference, Helene leads Parent Cooperative Community with the clear vision: to create a world where every adoptive family is empowered with the tools and resources to transform behavioral struggles into opportunities for growth, ensuring that every child feels secure, loved, and empowered.

At Parent Cooperative Community, our approach is deeply rooted in the principles of trauma-informed care. This means we prioritize the physical, psychological, and emotional safety of both children and their parents, helping to rebuild a sense of control and empowerment. Our program is crafted to meet the specific needs of each family we work with. In doing so, we go beyond traditional support services by offering a range of unique and enriching experiences designed to strengthen families and build lasting bonds. Our parent-intensive retreats provide caregivers with a dedicated space for growth and connection, while our children’s weekend workshops offer respite and skill-building opportunities in a nurturing environment.
We empower youth and families with backpacking skills programs and host family camps that bring everyone together in a shared, transformative experience. Our innovative Parent Cooperative Therapeutic Day Treatment program allows parents to actively participate in their child’s healing journey. Above all, Parent Cooperative Community fosters a vibrant community of families who support and uplift each other, creating a strong network of care and understanding. This holistic approach ensures that every member of the family receives the guidance, tools, and encouragement they need to thrive.
