Mikayla Phillips

Family Support Coach

As a Family Support Coach at Parent Cooperative Community, Mikayla Phillips works closely with families, providing in-home support to foster and adoptive families who need guidance with their children, many of whom come from traumatic backgrounds. Mikayla helps parents gain new perspectives and techniques to support their child’s transition into the family, fostering stronger, healthier relationships.

Mikayla is passionate about the development and well-being of children, and she finds deep fulfillment in working with foster and adoptive families. She feels incredibly thankful for the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in their lives, helping them navigate challenges and supporting them throughout their journey.

What Mikayla enjoys most about working at Parent Cooperative Community is the strong sense of community. She admires the warmth and eagerness of the families to learn how to cultivate their child’s growth and appreciates the friendly, resourceful staff who always go the extra mile to support one another.

Mikayla’s background includes hands-on experience caring for her five younger siblings, providing respite care for her autistic brother, and offering childcare for friends and family. She continues to expand her knowledge through the training opportunities offered by Parent Cooperative Community, including CPR/First Aid, youth mental health, and Bryan Post methods, among others.

Mikayla believes deeply in advocating for children, stating, "One of my greatest passions in life is giving children a voice. Children don’t communicate their needs the way adults do. My goal is to teach adults how to hear what is being said by the children in their lives."
