SB 163 Wraparound Services in California

Senate Bill 163 (Chapter 795), enacted in 1997, allows California counties to develop Wraparound programs using state and county funding. This legislation was designed as an alternative to group home care through the development of expanded family-based services for children at risk of placement outside their homes.

Key Components of California SB 163 Services:

Family-Centered Approach

Our services wrap around children living with their adoptive parents, focusing on preserving the family unit and preventing placement disruption.

Comprehensive Care Coordination

A dedicated care coordinator ensures all aspects of support are integrated and focused on your family's specific needs and goals.

Adoption Assistance Program (AAP) Integration

For families receiving Adoption Assistance Program benefits, our services are designed to complement and extend this support through specialized intervention.

Local Therapeutic Support

Access to trauma-informed therapeutic approaches specifically designed for adopted children and their families, delivered by professionals familiar with California's adoption landscape.
