Devina Brizendine
Family Support Coach
As a Family Support Coach at Parent Cooperative Community, Devina's main objective is to alleviate stress and enhance relationships within families.
By working closely with families, she helps create a nurturing and supportive environment where children can thrive. Devina understands the unique dynamics of foster and adoptive families and strives to make a positive difference in their lives.
She finds great joy in working with foster and adoptive families because it allows her to connect with people on a personal level. She genuinely enjoys getting to know individuals and learning about their motivations for fostering. This personal connection and understanding form the foundation of her work.
Being a member of the Parent Cooperative Community team holds a special place in Devina's heart, given her genuine love for spending time with children of all ages. She cherishes the opportunity to engage with children and contribute to their growth and well-being.
Devina's education and experience are deeply rooted in personal life experiences. She and her husband have adopted foster children, providing her with firsthand knowledge of the challenges and rewards of the adoption process. Additionally, they served as youth leaders for over three years, giving Devina valuable insights into the needs and experiences of young individuals. These personal experiences have taught her valuable lessons that she brings to her role as a Child & Family Support Specialist.
Devina's guiding philosophy is beautifully encapsulated by the quote, "You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending" by C.S. Lewis. She believes in the power of resilience and the possibility of transformation. Through her work, Devina strives to help families create a positive and hopeful future, empowering them to overcome challenges and create a better ending for their journeys.
